Site vulnerability assessments
Security is an ever changing thing, the moment you think you have it 100% covered something changes either physically or from a tactical perspective. A good example of this is the Anthrax scare several years ago, it was concluded that air handling units or intakes were vulnerable to attack using an agent such as Anthrax and that such areas should be secured. A vulnerability assessment conducted three months prior to that development would likely not have identified the air handling/intake area as a concern.
It is important that you keep abreast of current crime trends locally, nationally and indeed these days internationally; and that’s where your security partner becomes a useful asset.
Sunstates Security is fortunate to have many qualified individuals as part of our management team who are extremely knowledgeable and up–to–date with all aspects of security. Our team’s combined 100–plus years of law enforcement and security related experience is further enhanced by Sunstates’ exposure to the cutting edge of security at petrochemical and MARSEC (Maritime Security) facilities which we secure in several states.
It is vital to conduct annual vulnerability assessments using standardized metrics in an effort to achieve the security manager’s ultimate goal of providing a safe, secure and incident–free facility.
The assessment can be completed by an internal or external resource, but some knowledge of the inner workings of the facility assists in identifying weaknesses within the system as well as the more obvious physical aspects. As a Sunstates Security client, we will work with you to meet that goal.
We have several qualified operatives on staff ready to assist our clients whenever necessary; we also have a list of associates that can provide this service independently if preferred. Consider speaking with your Sunstates Branch Manager the next time you meet for further assistance in helping you meet an important goal in 2012 by conducting a site vulnerability assessment at your facility.
