Sunstates Security Walks for a Healthier Community
Triangle Heart Walk 2025
For the third consecutive year, Sunstates Security is proud to lace up and participate in the Triangle Heart Walk, an event that directly benefits the American Heart Association (AHA). Our involvement in this event is more than a tradition; it’s a powerful reflection of our company’s values and a hands-on demonstration of our commitment to the health and well-being of the communities we serve. This year, we’ve made a significant company donation, and our team is actively fundraising with a goal of raising $8,000 to support this vital cause.
Our dedication to the AHA’s mission is deeply personal. We understand the critical importance of immediate, life-saving action because our work demands it every day. Over half of our team is CPR certified, and annually, our officers perform CPR and save lives, both on and off duty. According to the AHA, more than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of a hospital each year, and immediate CPR can double or triple the chance of survival. Our participation in the Heart Walk is a way to honor these heroic actions and support the research and education that make them possible.
CPR Saves Lives
An example of our team actively using these lifesaving skills in the field was celebrated when we named the 2025 Officer of the Year, Aaron Polak of the Fort Lauderdale region. In October 2024, Officer Polak utilized his CPR and EMT training to save the life of a resident at a luxury senior living community. His quick thinking, teamwork with first responders, and decisive action stabilized the resident until paramedics arrived. The client’s leadership praised his “rapid lifesaving response” and “compassion,” and weeks later, the fully recovered resident was able to thank him in person.
This commitment starts at the top, with our CEO, Denis Kelly, who is once again a member of the Executives with Heart, an elite group of leaders who support the AHA’s mission. His involvement showcases our dedication to engaging with other leaders and companies to build a healthier community. We invite you to join us on October 11th in Raleigh to be part of our team, contribute to this great cause, and help us reach our fundraising goal. Every dollar helps fund essential public health education and life-saving research, proving that together, we can make a difference.
