Meet Gwendolyn Brady, Account Manager (Dallas, TX)
Sunstates Security is proud to recognize Gwendolyn Brady, whose remarkable career spans both military and law enforcement. From serving her country in the United States Navy to breaking barriers in law enforcement, Gwendolyn’s journey exemplifies dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to protecting others. Her decades of service and leadership continue to have a positive impact on those around her and on the clients and team members she supports today.
Military Experience
Growing up in a small town in Louisiana, Gwendolyn decided to join the United States Navy at just 19 years old. Her military career began in Yokosuka, Japan, where she spent her first year of service before being stationed in Northern California. Serving from 1990 to 1996, she was assigned to a Construction Battalion unit, where she learned welding and other valuable technical skills before transitioning into ship security, serving in a military police capacity.
During her time in the Navy, Gwendolyn proudly served in the First Gulf War, contributing to critical military operations at a pivotal time in our nation’s history. Her service also provided opportunities to travel extensively and experience different cultures around the world. Among the many places she visited, Singapore and Thailand remain two of her favorite destinations, leaving a lasting impression on her both personally and professionally.
After Serving
Following her service in the Navy, Gwendolyn transitioned into law enforcement, where she dedicated 26 years to serving and protecting her community. Throughout her distinguished career, she earned the respect of her peers for her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to excellence. Among her many contributions, Gwendolyn developed the CARE training initiative, a program that continues to make a lasting impact by helping more than 3,000 individuals receive valuable training for careers in the security profession. In 2010, she achieved a historic milestone by becoming the highest-ranking African American woman in her police department, a testament to her determination, resilience, and dedication to serving others.
Sunstates Security
Today, she continues to serve as an Account Manager with Sunstates Security in our Dallas region. When asked what she enjoys most about working for Sunstates, her answer was simple: the people. She spoke highly of the strong relationships she has built with both her team and company, noting the positive impact they have had on her experience.
She also gave special recognition to Marius Stanila, Regional Director in our Dallas Region, sharing her appreciation for the trust and confidence he has placed in her. Gwendolyn stated that Marius has always believed in her ability to get the job done right and has encouraged her to pursue excellence in every aspect of her role.
When asked what advice she would give to a new officer, she emphasized the importance of setting boundaries, trusting yourself, and staying true to your values.
Personal
Throughout her life, Gwendolyn has embraced opportunities for growth and exploration both professionally and personally. Her military service exposed her to new cultures and experiences worldwide, while her law enforcement career enabled her to make a lasting impact in her community. Whether serving her country, leading within a police department, or supporting her team in Dallas, she has consistently demonstrated resilience, confidence, and a passion for helping others succeed.
