Sunstates Security Honors 25th Anniversary of 9/11 Through Nationwide Day of Service
On September 11, members of the Sunstates Security corporate team gathered in Raleigh to take part in the annual 9/11 Day Meal Pack. Joining tens of thousands of volunteers across the country, our team marked the 25th anniversary of September 11 by turning solemn remembrance into purposeful, community-focused action.
Transforming Remembrance into Action
Established in the years following the 2001 terrorist attacks, the 9/11 Day of Service was founded to honor those who lost their lives, pay tribute to heroic first responders, and support everyone impacted. Over the past two and a half decades, the observance has grown into the nation’s largest annual day of charitable service. The initiative unites millions of Americans through volunteerism, transforming a day of national tragedy into an enduring symbol of unity, empathy, and collective goodwill.
A central element of this nationwide mobilization is the 9/11 Day Meal Pack, which coordinates large-scale volunteer efforts in major cities to provide nutritious, shelf-stable meals to individuals and families confronting food insecurity.
Team Sunstates in Action
Stepping away from their daily routines, our Raleigh corporate personnel worked side by side on an energetic, assembly-style packing line. Sunstates team members measured ingredients, portioned essential food items, sealed individual meal packages, and boxed completed kits for regional distribution.
The fast-paced packing floor gave our team a rewarding opportunity to collaborate outside the office while directly addressing hunger in our local communities.
A Powerful Nationwide Impact
Sunstates was proud to stand alongside an extraordinary coalition of civic and corporate leaders. Across the country, more than 800 companies and over 52,000 volunteers mobilized across 51 cities for the 2026 event, packing nearly 18 million meals for families in need.
Service to others and community responsibility are central to Sunstates Security’s core values. Participating in the Raleigh Meal Pack served as a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when organizations and communities unite toward a shared purpose. Sunstates is honored to support the mission of 9/11 Day and remains dedicated to making a positive, lasting difference both on post and across the communities we serve.
