Sunstates Mourns the Loss of a Valued Team Member and Friend Jim Dollar

Sunstates Security is sad to announce the loss of team member and friend Jim Dollar a few days following an unexpected medical event at his home last week. Based in Dallas, TX as a Senior Consultant for Sunstates Security for the past 9 years, he is credited with sparking company growth in the Texas market and contributing greatly to the strong regional presence we have today. In 2016 he was recognized with the Sunstates Security Associate of the Year Award at the company’s annual leadership conference.  The criteria put in place for this award is to “Recognize outstanding contributions and a commitment to exceeding expectations.  This person is a true team player and has the respect of their peers as well as executive leadership while contributing to the overall Mission & Vision of Sunstates Security.”  This was the first year of this award which was designed with the attributes Jim puts forth every day both personally and professionally.” He was strongly committed to his job and his company, and as recently as last week was busy at his computer making appointments and phone calls.

A Memphis, TN native, Jim began his career in the US Marine Corps and continued to work in telecommunications prior to joining the private security industry in 1977. He has worked with multiple organizations throughout his career and made life-long friends along the way. Several of his current co-workers have had the honor of collaborating with him in various areas for over three decades. A lifetime member of ASIS International, he was an active participant in local Chapter Law Enforcement Outreach Programs for many years. He leaves behind a legacy of 40+ years of security experience, a strong record of sales success and a reputation as a consummate professional with many friends, colleagues, and corporate executives in Texas and across the country. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he will be remembered above all for being a generous, dedicated, and loyal friend to the entire Sunstates Security team.

We will miss you Jim. Rest in peace.
