Sunstates Security proudly continues our Veteran Salute by recognizing LaGeno Johnson of the Phoenix Region and Supervisor Courtney Simpson of the Charlotte Region. Since joining our team in December 2021, LaGeno has consistently exemplified professionalism and commitment, leveraging the traits instilled by his distinguished military service and strong personal values. Courtney Simpson, whose dedication and leadership were shaped by both her military service and her career in security, was eager to expand beyond her small hometown and joined the United States Army in 2014, following her father’s example. Both individuals embody the discipline and commitment essential to the Sunstates team.
Meet Site Supervisor Courtney Simpson
Courtney proudly served in the U.S. Army from 2014 to 2018 as a 92 Fox Trot (Petroleum Supply Specialist). Stationed primarily at Fort Hood, Texas, she was responsible for being the base’s main fuel supplier. Her service also took her to Virginia, California, and other posts, giving her a valuable perspective and adaptability.
Her most memorable moments were the bonds she formed with people from around the world. Learning from their diverse cultures and beliefs left a lasting impression, shaping her respect for others and her ability to adapt quickly—skills that continue to guide her today.
Personal Life & Milestones
The youngest of four siblings, Courtney is a proud dog mom to a miniature poodle and a pit bull. After completing her military service, she transitioned into the security industry, working her way up from officer to supervisor over the span of five years. Her journey has been defined by resilience, loyalty, and teamwork principles rooted in both her upbringing and her time in the Army.
Sunstates Experience & Advice
Courtney began her journey with Sunstates Security in April 2025 and currently serves as a Site Supervisor in the Charlotte region. She has found the company’s team-oriented and family-like culture to be one of its strongest assets. She takes pride in being part of a workplace where colleagues truly support one another.
When asked what advice she would give to a new officer, Courtney emphasizes the importance of continuous learning and awareness:
“Learn as much as you can and always be aware of your surroundings.”
Her leadership and commitment reflect both her military background and her professional growth in security. Today, we honor and salute Supervisor Courtney Simpson for her service to our nation and her ongoing dedication to excellence at Sunstates Security.
