May 19, 2021

Sunstates Welcomes Nick Drosakis

Regional Manager – Atlanta

Nick Drosakis Regional Manager Atlanta Sunstates SecurityAn experienced manager with over 23 years of collective military, law enforcement, and contract security experience, Nick joined the Sunstates Security team as the Atlanta Regional Manager in April 2021. A proven leader with exceptional problem-solving, employee development, crisis response and customer relations skills, he is an ideal addition to the Sunstates Security management team.

Nick’s Security Experience

Nick’s security career began with the United States Marine Corps Military Police. Over his 10 years in service, he served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and conducted multiple joint operations with the Drug Enforcement Administration in the Caribbean.   Following his time in the military, Nick utilized his skills and experience to enter the field of civilian law enforcement as a Police Officer at the Kennesaw Police Department. He was promoted to Criminal Investigations and worked with property, persons and financial crimes units, as well as establishing a Criminal Intelligence Unit. His assignments also included working with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (Atlanta) Domestic Terrorism Squad, and he was selected to be an FBI Instructor for Domestic Terrorism.

After 15 years in law enforcement, Nick once again transitioned his career, this time to the private contract security services sector. The skills and experience from his previous military and law enforcement roles translated well to the contract industry, and he went on to manage the program for a major aviation corporate headquarters, and later a portfolio of national accounts. In his last position prior to joining Sunstates Security, he managed all operational aspects of a 40-person security team and a fleet of vehicles, as well as performing customer-facing communications to ensure ongoing compliance and client satisfaction.

Certifications/Personal

In addition to his comprehensive experience, Nick holds numerous specialized certifications and training credentials, including Peace Officer Standards, FBI Joint Terrorism Operations, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and GA certified security instructor and firearms trainer. A native of Kennesaw, GA , he enjoys spending time with his family exploring nature through activities such as hiking, camping, archery and shooting.  His other interests outside of work include woodworking, golf, clogging and grilling for tailgating season.
